About
The National Autonomous University of Mexico has developed a new international film festival focusing on contemporary cinema and formative activities. The festival will be hosting two competitions: the Official Selection, that will be composed of high quality international works; and the section Feats, International Film Schools Meeting, that promotes exchange between young, national and international creators. In both sections the Puma prize will be awarded.
Awards
The films in the International Feature Film Competition will compete for the Puma de Plata award in the following categories:
- Puma de Plata for best film, 200 000Mexican pesos,
- Puma de Plata for best director, 150 000 Mexican pesos,
- The Audience Award.
Rules
- The FICUNAM International Feature Competition is open to all films with a running time of over 60 minutes. Only 2022-to-present productions will be considered.
- All participating films must have their Mexican Premiere at the Festival.
- Screening Media Type: DCP, 35 мм, 16 мм,
To inscribe the films in the competition, you need to send the following material:
- Filled-out application form,
- An online version of the film, including password, spoken or subtitled in English.
Important: please make it clear whether it is either the final cut, first cut or a work in progress.
Premiere Requirements
National premiere required.
Jury and Organizers
The Festival is organized by the National Autonomous University of Mexico (Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México), thanks to the support from the UNAM Coordination of Cultural Diffusion, the Central Office of Cinematographic Activities (Filmoteca), and the University
Centre of Cinematographic Studies (CUEC).
