CC creates collaborative partnerships and organises events with different partners across cultural genres locally and internationally. Collide Copenhagen residency award is the collaboration framework between CERN and Copenhagen Contemporary that aims to support artistic research on art, science, and technology. Within this unique collaboration framework, Collide will be taking place annually over a three-year period (2023-2025).

2. Description of the Call
Collide, an annual residency programme, is a unique opportunity for artists with a distinct interest in the intersection of art, science, and technology. We invite artists with a keen interest in engaging with scientists and engineers to join our vibrant community at CERN in
Geneva and at Copenhagen Contemporary (CC) in Copenhagen. Arts at CERN and Copenhagen Contemporary invite artists to explore the profound impact of science on contemporary culture. The primary goal of Collide is to immerse artists in the dynamic environment of the laboratory, fostering a deep dialogue with CERN’s scientific community. This residency extends beyond geographical boundaries, providing a rich cultural exchange in the context of Copenhagen.

The residency will consist of two months divided into two periods. The artist will spend the first month at CERN in Geneva and the second in Copenhagen. The residency will be dedicated to artistic research and exploration. After the residency, a development phase will follow, during which the artist will define and produce a groundbreaking artwork to be included in an exhibition at CC in 2025, the last year of the collaboration between both institutions. Throughout this journey, artists will receive curatorial support from the Geneva
and Copenhagen curatorial teams.

3. Eligibility and Criteria
Collide welcomes artists from any country who are at least 18 years old. Interested artists are invited to submit one application detailing their project proposal, artistic vision, and relevance to the overarching context of the call. The application should describe a project to
